Be My Valentine: Parfait Natalia

January 27, 2014

Nothing says Valentine’s like red lacy lingerie.  Right on cue for the holiday of lovers, Parfait has launched their new collection, Natalia, which is set to send hearts racing this February!

Scarlet smalls are, however, not made equal.  I’ve seen many a poor excuse of lust inducing lingerie that’s looked more trashy and cheap than sexy and chic.  The mistake often lies with the eradication of anything suggestively sensual, consisting merely of poor quality fabric because the thought is supposedly that the lingerie will be on the floor within seconds anyway.  So much for passion!

Parfait’s Natalia epitomises exactly what I think Valentine’s Day lingerie is all about: beauty, attraction, sexual insinuation and desire.

Parfait Natalia

The crimson red colour is as vibrant and wanting as a pin up siren’s bullet lipstick: it instantly commands attention.  Light pink trim and bow detailing adds contrast, bringing your gaze to the flirty cut away peep hole at the central gore.  Crafted in a soft touch semi sheer lace that extends below the cups, the design looks fluffy and girly without fussy frill.

Parfait sent me a 30G in the unpadded bra and a 12 in the hipster brief as I requested.  I typically wear a 30GG these days, but Natalia is available up to a G cup, and since I had luck with Parfait’s Danielle in 30G I went for this option.  I’m definitely glad I did as it’s such a good fit.  The band is still a touch bigger than I’d usually comfortably wear, as I can easily slide the bra down, so I’d definitely recommend going down in the band.

Now I hate to have to point this out as I really don’t know whether it would improve with washing and wear, but I hear a super amount of squeak coming from the underwires!  I really do not like the sound which, to me, is akin to nails scratching a blackboard.  Eek!

But it’s so lovely!  I’ve truly found it to be more beautiful than I saw in the brochure, and I think once I’ve been able to play around with various sizes so I know which is the perfect fit, then I would be very happy with this bra.  Putting it on the first time it just felt like Natalia hugged my skin like liquid.

The brief is ever so comfy too.  The lace features only to the front with a soft and silky feeling stretchy bottom, and, I’m inclined to add, has a normal brief gusset and reverse that doesn’t have a seam that rides into your butt like so many shorty style pants do (which frankly, is a huge point scorer in my book!)

I had looked at Parfait and will take another look at what they’re carrying now. I had previously indulged myself by buying some heart print briefs in a different brand and may write a post about them even though they are no longer available. After viewing your lovely Valentine look I’ll probably take another look at what’s available from Parfait. I like the bows and ornamentation and a silky feeling stretchy bottom sounds nice.
