No colour trend has been more lingerie fitting than this year’s Colour of the Year scheme by Pantone.  And there’s not one, but two colours for 2016: Serenity Blue, and the delicately pretty Rose Quartz.

What makes Rose Quartz such a gorgeous colour to wear is its warmth and softness.  It’s a hue that’s neither true pink nor peach, but like rose gold, emanates a radiant sunkissed glow.

Gossard‘s latest lingerie collection, Luscious, is true to the trend, in the soft blush colourway.  It’s a romantic set that wouldn’t look out of place as a bride’s lingerie; it’s light and delicate and looks intriguingly special.

Gossard sent me the Luscious bra in a 30G and matching short in a medium.

The Luscious bra is a padded plunge style with a sumptuous satin finish.  It boasts intricate scalloping embroidery to the cups and a centre jewel trinket adorns the centre gore.  It looks sophisticated, pure and yet decadent.

At first glance online I thought Luscious was actually cream rather than blush as the shade seemed much less saturated.  While an ivory shade would have been lovely, and an even more perfect range as a bride’s first choice of underwear, it was a pleasant surprise to discover the colour is the golden blush it is.

Like other Gossard collections ranging up to a G cup, Luscious also has slim straps.  Sometimes I wish Gossard’s straps were a bit more significant but to be honest, if you get a firm enough fit from the band it actually doesn’t make an enormous issue.  The straps are fully adjustable on the Luscious too so there’s plenty flexibility to suit your frame.

Following my review of Entice last month when I found the 32G too big in the cup, I decided to try the 30G this time around.  This size fits so much better.  The cups are just right, which I fill without space, and the underwires don’t feel too high.  The band is a teeny bit tighter than I’d usually like, but with wear this is something that will give.  It’s definitely a better fit all round.

What most appealed to me about this bra, second to its rich styling, was the fact it’s a plunge.  I love a plunging bra shape and Gossard is fantastic for producing gorgeous and wearable plunges for the fuller busted end of their size spectrum.

The Luscious short is a gorgeous co-ordinating knicker for the bra.  Its style is pretty much a hipster brief; ultra low on the tummy and quite skimpy for a short.  It features the sumptuous satin to the front panel of the brief while the rest is a soft handle mesh, which makes it breathable and ultimately more comfortable on the derriere.  I love the scalloping detail on the embroidery panels, they’re very art deco giving it a vintage feel.

The medium is a great fit, which is improved on the large I reviewed last time.  A Gossard medium is supposed to be a 12-14 anyway so it’s spot on with this brief.

This collection actually offers the choice of a thong or short, but I opted for the short since it’s a much more wearable style for me plus I don’t particularly like thongs, so that’s that!

The set overall is just a beauty.  Unlike a lot of lingerie collections lately, it’s not a loud design with busy print or bold colour, it is exuberant but simple.  Sometimes it’s nice to have something that isn’t so flashy but still feels special, and Luscious definitely has something beguiling about her.
