CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE | Gorgeous Gifts for Mamas

December 6, 2018
Christmas is my most favourite time of the year.  It’s the music, the lights, the decoration and the excitement of the season.  Making Christmas a fun and memorable experience never loses the thrill and with this year being Reuben’s second Christmas, the stakes are higher.  And that means only one thing: a potentially stressed out mama – and I won’t be the last.

So what does a mum do to avoid end of year burn out? Take a prescription for mummy me-time, of course!  Any mum who’s run ragged after a little one, or big one for that matter, deserves some quality pampering and lovely treats.

Whether you’re looking to treat a mama this Christmas or hint suggestively for your own deserved big day treat, you won’t go far wrong with these gorgeous gift ideas:

[ DISCLOSURE: THIS POST CONTAINS GIFTED PRODUCTS.  ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN, NOT OF THE BRANDS NAMED. ]

DCUK PENGUIN (DCUK, £23.99)

If you like your gifts classic but contemporary, this fine chap from DCUK makes a lovely choice.  Ornaments and figurines can be tricky to gift when you’re unsure of the recipient’s taste, but a tasteful sculpture like the DCUK Penguin would be well received.

Made entirely from wood with a natural finish, the small (yet sizeable) DCUK penguin is a finely designed piece of art with an endearing charm.  With a name tag around the neck (mine’s called Angus), this sweet penguin is just beautiful.

PHOTO TEDDY (Photobox, £14.99)

I like a teddy bear.  The loveliest teddies are those that are soft and cuddly, and when they’re wearing teeny tiny t-shirts and beautiful big bows, they can look pretty adorable too.  But have you ever seen a personalised photo teddy?  No, me neither, until I found one on Photobox.  You can have your very own mugshot printed onto a teddy’s t-shirt so whoever you gift him to can while away the hours cuddling you on said teddy.

This bear’s gorgeous – not only is it a personable gift it’s a quality product too. I chose a nice family photo of us three to go on the teddy and it’s printed up so well; the colour and fine details have come through just as the photo looks.

WAX MELTS (Whiffywax, melts £1.20-£2 / burner £10)

The simple pleasure of burning a fragrance is one of life’s little luxuries. Wax fragrances are the quirky candle alternative that delivers a much more intense scent and incorporate the use of a decorative burner. While I do like a candle, I’ve always preferred the melting fragrance of a burner on the go.  Whiffywax melts smell scrumptiously close to the real deal – the Christmas Caramel is seriously delicious – and they burn for ages.

The snowman burner is an adorable little thing and just perfect as a neutral festive decoration.  All you need to do is pop a tea light candle in, shave some wax melt into the dish of the burner and you’re away.  The light glowing through the snowman’s tummy is so cute!

BUNNY LIGHT (Find Me A Gift, £38.99)

Whimsical gifts aren’t just for the kids!  We’re a bunny dwelling household so naturally I’m bunny mad, and anything rabbit related I’ve just got to have.  But even if you don’t think the real deal is particularly cute (who even are you?) who could argue this little guy isn’t clever?!

The Bunny Light from Find Me A Gift is such a talking point  I mean, who knew rabbit butts glowed?  It’s a ceramic bunny shaped table lamp that gives off a bright light from its tail.  I love it.  He sits beside the bed looking cool AF.

CURVY KATE DRAGONFLY LINGERIE (Brastop, Bra £34 / Brief £16.50)

Gorgeous and well fitting lingerie is a gifting winner – as long as you’re certain the mama intended appreciates it and you have the right size!  If you’re looking to treat yourself, Curvy Kate’s Dragonfly collection is one stunning set.

A new arrival to Brastop, Dragonfly is a stylish sheer cup bra richly detailed in lace overlay, featuring double shoulder straps and a broad 3-4 hook fastening band for superior fit.  The co-ordinating bra and brief set is super comfortable that feels sumptuously decadent to wear.  I wear the 32GG and it feels divine.  The shape is nicely rounded with a gentle lift, and the flat band running along the ribcage is a supremely comfortable element.  In the wine and black colourway, Dragonfly is an intoxicating look for winter that’s too beautiful to keep under wraps.

PAMPERING SPA DAY FOR TWO (Red Letter Days, £119)

A spa day is my ultimate idea of a super chilled out way to spend a day.  Relaxing in a bubbly jacuzzi, enjoying a leisurely swim, topped off with an indulgently long treatment to soothe away the mum stress – utter bliss.

The exclusive Q Hotels package from Red Letter Days entitles two people to a heavenly spa day experience, enjoying spa facilities such a whirlpool and sauna, a light lunch and a 50 minute treatment from a choice of 6 various body exfoliations and massages and hand and foot pampering rituals. A truly divine way to wind down after the mad rush of Christmas and start the new year afresh.

PINK GIN (Tiger Gin)

Good things come in small packages, especially when they’re beautiful bottles of gin.  Tiger Gin is the perfect stocking filler for a mum who loves a good G&T at the end of a hard week and deserves a premium treat.

The gorgeous pink hue of the Ruby Tiger Gin is stunning and it tastes delicious too – a fruity pink gin that has a peppery warmth, perfect for a winter tipple drank neat or mixed with lemonade.  If you’re looking for a stylish alcoholic gift that’s a little extra special then Tiger Gin is a wonderful idea.

If you’re a mama, what gift would you love to receive this Christmas?
