Bridal Lingerie Review | Masquerade Serenity
Late Spring with it’s blooms in full blossom and new life awakening means an abundance of weddings. Even singer Rachel Fabri from my favourite classical cross-over group, All Angels, married this weekend, looking every inch the ethereal goddess. Spring really is the most beautiful time to get married! Luxury and decadence goes hand in hand with the perfect wedding ideal, and is as traditional as wearing virginal white. Whilst these days weddings are less restrictive with their form and are as unique as they are personal, many couples still want the classic theme when it comes to formal dress. Masquerade is the premium lingerie line by Panache, and the beautiful new Serenity collection defines supreme opulence (check out the pearlescent metallic ornamental detail to the centre gore!) Rich in ivory satin and sumptuous embroidery, Serenity offers the bride-to-be a beautiful and functional choice in D+ underwear, including a basque, plunge bra and strapless. Panache sent me a 30GG strapless bra, which does in fact come with straps, and the matching brief in a 12. The strapless bra is very much a balcony style with padded cups for maximum smoothing and shaping. Available in a D-H cup it’s a good option for the fuller bust, with the deep supportive band featuring a 3 hook wide fastener. Floral and foliage embroidered mesh decorates the top section of the cups, the front centre panel and the detachable straps, which lends to its premium Italian quality. Whilst a 30GG is my usual go-to size, I found the bra surprisingly tight and on the small size. The cups’ capacity seemed to had lost to the padding which meant I overfilled the cups. I would be intrigued to compare against the 28H to gain room in the cup. The briefs are lined to the reverse of the front panel and the back is double thickness allowing a total seam-free line around the leg. The embroidered mesh is applied to both sides of the brief, with the matching ornamental detail to the centre front. The briefs are totally comfortable to wear, skimming the bottom with the silky satin fabric. I wore the Serenity set on a photoshoot I had a few months back so I’ve finally been able to reveal the amazing images from it. They’ve turned out exactly the way I perceived and really show off the stunning lingerie, which I styled up with some Charnos stockings and a beaded lace Trudy Lee bridal shrug (part of the wedding dress I was given on Brides on a Bus back in 2009!) which looks absolutely beautiful together. Make up artist, Zoe, did a fab job giving me a glowing fresh face and my hair up-do was Zoe’s idea inspired by Downton Abbey’s Lady Mary. Given the fact we shot in a stunning castle I think the whole look is rather decadent, don’t you agree? I’d love to hear what you think of the images!
