I’m At a Place Called Vertigo | Maison Close ‘Doux Vertige’ Collection
Lingerie is an exciting world because its existence serves more than practical purpose. See it as merely underwear and you’ll only experience the tip of a beautiful, exotic iceberg that has the ability to take you places beyond the daily grind.
Maison Close is one of my favourite brands for beautifully designed lingerie that is sensual, provocative and visually attractive. The brand’s French heritage inspires an alluring mix of feminine chic with soft erotica, creating a stunning aesthetic that looks sumptuous and totally sexy.
When Maison Close asked me which new collection intrigued me I found myself drawn to Doux Vertige, with a few pieces in particular.
The Doux Vertige collection is a range true to its name: sure to set any curious gaze into a ‘mild vertigo’. Contrasting soft, blush pink mesh with hard lines of pewter satin, slices of sheer dainty floral lace and open cuts make Doux Vertige a powerfully feminine range.
Maison Close’s size range doesn’t span very wide, so I opted for the larger sizes which equate to a UK size 12-14.
The high waisted panty is a high waisted deep brief with a soft satin waist band, and sits comfortably around my mid-section close to my belly button, which is a good position for this style. The bottom is cut similar to a brazillian brief, so isn’t a full coverage bottom, and the gusset is quite narrow too. While this may not be the most comfortable cut, the ‘butt cleavage’ effect does add to the enticing look. There’s also four detachable straps if you fancy completing the boudoir look with stockings. The XL size brief is a perfect fit for my size 14 frame.
The bandeau bra features sheer lace demi cups for a cheeky look that offers very light coverage and fit. Sadly, it really doesn’t work for fuller busts, as you’ll see. According Maison Close’s size guide the large should fit a 10-12 figure and busts between a C and D, so I was asking too much for it to cope with my 30H boobs. In addition to the petite cups, I found the band too wide and as such, really unsupportive. But, realistically I wouldn’t be wearing this bra out and about as an everyday bra, so it works in the boudoir!
The naked breast bra is a design that always appeals to me and is, quite obviously, the most revealing. This kind of look is purely aesthetic and delivers a strong look without trying. Take a look at the bra flat laid, and its gorgeous design really becomes known. The industrial looking strapping styled upon an underwired structure, pewter colour with slivers of soft sheer mesh combine to create this beautiful piece of erotic lingerie. Again, this isn’t specifically made with large busts in mind, and this is clear with the shaping of the wiring. But, because of the open cup it means a full bust can be accommodated and it still looks amazing.
What do you think of this kind of provocative styling? Do you like the combination of soft fabrics with rugged looks? Have you explored Maison Close lingerie? I’d love to hear!
